Following a 2-year hiatus, Applica Consumer Products Inc. has reported that it will once again exhibit at the International Housewares Show taking place March 20 –22, 2004, at McCormick Place in Chicago. "We have several initiatives that we need to communicate to the retail trade," said Mike Michienzi, president/GM of Applica. "You won’t see every Applica can opener at the show, but four to five key initiatives." These initiatives include new technologies both inside and outside the kitchen, some of which involve partnerships with other companies, he added. The March timing of the show is "marginally" better, hesaid. "Who knows what they are doing in January? In March you still have a chance to effect fourth-quarter plans." He indicated that Applica may attend the show in 2005, as well. Applica said it has no plans to return to the Gourmet Products Show. (HomeBusinessWorld News)
