Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, based in Pittsburgh, PA, U.S., yesterday appointed Terry L. Dunlap president of Allegheny Ludlum. Allegheny Ludlum is the largest operating company within Allegheny Technologies, which accounts for the majority of flat-rolled steels products segment sales. The appointment is effective November 1, 2002.
"Terry brings to his new position a broad base of knowledge and experience with customers, suppliers, employees, and operations developed during his 19-year career with Allegheny Ludlum and its parent Allegheny Technologies," said Jim Murdy, president and chief executive officer of Allegheny Technologies.
"Terry Dunlap has the skills and experience to continue to improve Allegheny Ludlum's profitability and, through Operational Excellence, to solidify its reputation as the stainless steel industry's leader for customer service, product quality and delivery performance," said Doug Kittenbrink, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Allegheny Technologies. Mr. Kittenbrink has been serving as president of Allegheny Ludlum. Mr. Dunlap will report to Mr. Kittenbrink.
Mr. Dunlap is currently Allegheny Technologies' vice president of procurement and chief information officer. He has experience in domestic and international sales, marketing, manufacturing, production control, logistics, information technology, procurement, and general management. The company's 2002 Proxy Statement also noted that Mr. Dunlap is a member of the immediate family of Bob Bozzone, chairman of Allegheny Technologies.
Allegheny Technologies Incorporated is one of the largest and most diversified specialty materials producers in the world with revenues of approximately $2.1 billion in 2001.
