Sharp Corp. plans to start production of next generation liquid crystal (LC), called "system LC," at its Tenri, Japan plant, company officials said. System LC enables electronics makers to incorporate electric circuits into LC displays, making the whole product thinner and lighter. The company is aiming for monthly production of the equivalent of 2.5 million 2-in LC units by the end of next March. (Kyodo News)
