According to the company, in the U.S., orders and commitments for 2003 currently provide for 750 new mW of wind-generated electricity. Those orders are reported to represent close to 75-percent more capacity than the total installed in the U.S. during 2002, as reported by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). The company reports that it will also supply wind turbines totaling more than 800 mW, a 40-percent increase over 2002, in Europe and Asia in 2003.
The wind turbines manufactured by GE Wind Energy have outputs rated between 900 and 3,600 kilowatts. The company also reports that it offers support services ranging from project development assistance to operation and maintenance.
