Sony To Close Texas Semiconductor Plant

Sony Corp of America announced it plans to close its semiconductor plant in San Antonio, TX, U.S. in September due to slowing demands in the semiconductor market. The move is expected to result in a loss of some 600 jobs. Sony officials said production at the San Antonio plant will be integrated into Sony plants in Japan. (Kyodo News)
