GE Invests in Monogram Appliance Brands

GE Appliances foresees demand from affluent consumers growing, and has invested more than $50 million in its Monogram line of premium appliances, both products and services, to meet the needs of luxury consumers.

GE points to a Luxury Daily report that forecasts the number of core luxury consumers in the United States to grow to 10.8 million by 2020 (increasing 1.8 million from the 2014 number).

"Our focus on key initiatives amid current and anticipated affluent consumer trends has positioned Monogram for further growth in 2014,” said Monogram General Manager Michael Mahan.

More than half of the Monogram product line will be new in 2014. Introductions will include:
• The industry’s first French door wall oven with remote-enabled connected technology. The Monogram French door wall oven (ZET1FHSS) will have a suggested retail price $4,699. It will be available in February 2015.
• An updated refrigeration lineup will include a new, French door built-in refrigerator that utilizes unique, premium materials like tempered glass, fabricated steel, and anodized aluminum. Each unit is hand-built. The Monogram French door built-in refrigerator (model ZIPP360NHSS) has a suggested retail price of $9,699 and is scheduled for full availability in November of 2014.
• New dishwashers with 54% more cleaning jets than other luxury dishwashers. These are GE's quietest models at 39 dBA, and a custom audio soundtrack that can be heard when turning the dishwasher on or off and receiving notifications. The GE Monogram dishwasher (model ZDT870SSF) has a suggested price of $1,799. It is currently available.
