Korea-based appliance maker Coway reported first quarter 2014 sales of KRW 535,006 million (approx. US$523 million), up 5.4% from KRW 507,383 million in the first quarter of 2013. Operating profit in 1Q 2014 was KRW 90,278 million (approx. $88 million), up 29.5% from 69,711 million in 1Q 2013.
Coway's head office and R&D center are both in Seoul.
Its Yogu factory is said to have the world's largest production facilities for water purifiers and air purifiers. The plant has annual output of approximately 805,500 water purifiers, 347,131 air cleaners, and 16,300,000 filters.
The company's Inchon factory has annual output of approximately 336,000 bidets, 105,800 water softeners, and 28,400 food waste disposers.
