March 2014 sales of new single-family homes in the United States were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 384,000 units, according to Census Bureau data, which is down 14.5% from the revised February 2014 rate of 449,000 and is down 13.3% from March 2013's 443,000.
The March 2014 new home median sales price was $290,000. The average sales price was $334,200.
The seasonally adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of March 2014 was 193,000, which is a 6.0-month supply at the current rate of sales.
