The Contractor Comfort Index (CCI), measuring HVAC/R contractors’ outlook on short-term growth in their industry, has held steady during the first quarter of 2014, according to industry association ACCA.
The CCI stood at 73 in March 2014, from 72 in February and 69 in January.
The March 2014 CCI of 73 was up 8 points from 65 in March 2013.
United States industry organization ACCA has been tracking HVAC/R contractors’ short-term economic growth outlook since February 2010. The organization surveys its contractor members on how positive they feel about new business prospects, existing business activity, and expected staffing decisions in the short-term future. These responses are weighted and averaged into a single index point, the CCI. A mark of 50 or higher indicates that the industry anticipates growth.
