Europe has 3.77 million installed vending machines, generating a total turnover of EUR 11.3 billion, according to the latest European Vending Association (EVA) data.
EVA said the Big 6 countries—Italy, France, Germany, UK, Spain, and the Netherlands—account for 80% of the total vending machine installed base.
The Netherlands has the highest number of vending machines per person; Russia has the lowest number. The report also shows that 60% of European vending machines are hot drinks machines.
The EVA report acknowledges that vending in certain countries stagnated or declined as a result of the recession, but the report also finds room for growth in the industry overall.
