Honda Motor Co. is boosting snow thrower sales in Japan with the introduction of models designed specifically for the elderly. A Japan Times report said that the easier-to-use models are going to the growing number of elderly users who are living on their own.

The report said that Honda launched snow throwers in Japan in 1981. The article also put the individual user market at 46,000 units in 2013 up substantially from 12,000 in 2009. The article put Honda's share of that market at 60%.
