Samsung Named Most Trusted Brand in India

Indian market intelligence firm TRA released its 2014 Brand Trust Report, ranking Samsung the No. 1 trusted brand in India. Samsung moved up from No. 2 in the 2013 report. Samsung sells appliances and consumer electronics in India.

The list ranks the 1,200 top Indian brands.

A big mover in 2014 was Whirlpool, which jumped from 144 in 2013 to 24 in 2014.

Electrolux started from further down in the list but showed a bigger jump, from 912 in 2013 to 595 in 2014.

Small appliance maker Preethi did not appear on the 2013 list but was No. 149 in 2014.

2013's No. 1 ranked brand was mobile phone maker Nokia, which fell to the No. 5 spot in 2014.

No. 419: Butterfly, up from 1092
No. 595: Electrolux, up from 912
No. 615: Hawkins, from 597
No. 640: Sumeet, from 868
No. 754: Japain, from 392
No. 862: Milton (the brand was not on the 2013 list)
No. 921: Sun Flame (the brand was not on the 2013 list)
No. 1026: Singer (the brand was not on the 2013 list)
