Canadian HVAC/R Wholesaler Sales Down in November

November 2013 wholesaler sales of HVAC/R products tracked by the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating were down 2.0% in November 2013 compared to November 2012. The category was up in all regions of Canada except for British Columbia and Ontario.

Year to date, HVAC/R was down 0.3%.

November 2013 total wholesaler sales of all the products tracked by the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating were down 2.9%, or CAD $14.3 million, compared to November 2012.

Total 2013 year-to-date product sales were CAD $5.263 billion, which the organization said was comparable to year-to-date November 2012 levels.

All the market segments tracked by CIPH were down in the month of November 2013. In addition to HVAC/R:
• Plumbing was down in all Canadian regions except for Alberta, with no change in Ontario.
• Hydronics was down in all regions except the West region and Alberta.
• PVF was down in Atlantic, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec regions.
• Waterworks was up in the West region, as well as Alberta and Quebec. Atlantic had the largest drop in sales followed by Ontario and BC.
