Premium appliance maker Dacor (City of Industry, CA) is exhibiting its new Wi-Fi connected home appliances at the 2014 CES show, the world's largest consumer technology trade show, in Las Vegas. CES takes place January 7-10.
Dacor got a head start on the show, unveiling its new Discovery iQ 48-inch dual-fuel range at the CES Unveiled Las Vegas media event on January 5. It will also show the new cooking appliance at the ShowStoppers @ CES media event on January 7.
The company will also exhibit the new Discovery iQ 30-inch wall oven and Discovery WineStation.
Cooking Appliances with Smartphone Control
The Discovery iQ 48-inch dual-fuel range is designed to be the world's first cooking range with an integrated, wirelessly connected tablet. The appliance incorporates the Dacor's proprietary iQ Controller, a new control panel. The controller was introduced on the Discovery iQ Wall Oven in 2013 and is now being expanded into other appliance models.
The appliance also has the iQ Cooking Application, providing users with control tools for precision cooking. It also allows the appliance to be controlled remotely from any smartphone or tablet.
The cooking application lets the user watch cooking tutorials, download recipes, and access cooking advice from the range. The pre-programmed Dacor Guide removes the guesswork when preparing many dishes. When the cooking is complete, the appliance automatically switches to warming mode and sends a text message to inform the user.
Home chefs can customize the cooking application by downloading apps from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
The cooking appliance has a gas hookup to provide gas cooking via its brass burners.
The appliance's two electric ovens provide 10 cooking modes, including Pure Convection, Pure Convection Sear, Convection Bake, Convection Broil, Convection Roast, Surround Bake, Bake, Broil, Max Broil, and Roast.
The appliance is also built with soft-close door hinges that prevent doors from slamming.
GreenClean Steam Technology cleans light oven build-up in 30 minutes without the need for high heat or chemicals.
Wi-Fi software updates ensure that users can download the latest recipes and innovations
The Discovery iQ 48-inch dual-fuel will have a price of $11,999 when it becomes available in the United States in June 2014.
