Small appliance maker Jarden Consumer Solutions sees two important consumer product trends for 2014: affordable products for wellness care at home and an increase in double-duty products.
Jarden said that more consumers are aware they need to take greater responsibility for managing their own health. This is expected to lead to an increased number of affordable products for home wellness care.
Jarden's 2014 product introductions will include a new Oster-brand Versa Performance Blender 1000 Series (pictured). The unit has a suggested retail price of $149.99, which the company said puts it at a much lower price point than comparable blenders.
The unit has a 1,000-watt motor capable of grinding nut butters, puree soups, and prepare smoothies/green drinks to meet nutritional goals. The unit comes with two 20-ounce Blend 'N Go cups, which can be used as water bottles throughout the day.
Jarden's Oster brand will also launch a juicer/smoothie maker for creating on-the-go drinks. The Juice & Blend 2 Go, with a MSRP of $49.99, has a 400-watt motor and serves up drinks into 20-ounce, BPA-free personal blending bottle.
Among the multi-function products planned by Jarden for 2014 launch is the Margaritaville-brand Cargo Bali Frozen Concoction Maker, with a MSRP of $499. The appliance is designed to dispense restaurant-quality drinks in minutes.
Jarden said its FoodSaver brand of appliances can help consumers "save enough money each year to take the family on an extra vacation."
The brand's new V2300 and V2500 Vacuum Sealers, priced $79.99-$99.99, feature new technology for reducing bag waste and thus save consumers more money. The units have manual controls and are designed to effectively preserve meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and leftovers five times longer than traditional storage methods.
