Almost Half of U.S. Homes Have DVR

Almost half of households--47%--in the United States have at least one digital video recorder (DVR), compared to 40% in 2010 and 23% in 2007, according to data from Leichtman Research Group.

The group also found that 50% of the homes with a DVR have DVR service on more than one TV; it was 30% five years ago.

Other findings:
* 58% of households with annual income of more than $50,000 have a DVR
* 30% of households with annual income below $50,000 have a DVR
