The 19th China's Most Valuable Brands Report ranked appliance brand Haier No. 1 for the twelfth consecutive year. The report values the brand at RMB 99.29 billion (US$16.22 billion).

China's Most Valuable Brands report is an annual research project on the brand values of Chinese companies. The report puts the average brand value of the top 100 Chinese brands at RMB 21.41 billion, up tenfold from 1995 rankings. Haier's brand value grew forty-fold in the same period.

The report said Haier earned its ranking thanks to steady growth. The company has a market-leading position in China, Haier has poured additional resources into integrating and maximizing global technology know-how and market resources, and in fostering the development of five global R&D centers. This is helping Haier grow consumer brand awareness worldwide.

Euromonitor has ranked Haier the world's No. 1 major appliance brand, by global market share, for four years. (Haier sells predominantly under the one brand name, Haier. Whirlpool Corp. is considered to be the overall largest maker of major appliances in the world, but sells them under a number of global and regional brand names.)
