A fire earlier this week destroyed much of Gorenje Surovina, the waste collection and processing subsidiary of appliance maker Gorenje. The facility is located in Maribor, Slovenia.
Gorenje said the fire destroyed two-thirds of the industrial hall for collection and processing of waste, as well as the solar power plant installed on the rooftop of the facility.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed at the company. The cause of the fire is also being investigated. Work was not in progress at the plant and there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
The company expressed its gratitude to all firefighters for their efforts to extinguish the fire and to representatives of other institutions for their cooperation.
