The Electroindustry Business Confidence Index (EBCI), reported by industry association NEMA, remained above the 50-point mark in May 2013, indicating that the industry segment was continuing to improve.

Still, the current conditions measure for North America decreased from 66.7 in April 2013 to 55.9 in May 2013.

Confidence in future business conditions were also lower in May, but this measure, as well, stayed positive. The North American EBCI for conditions six months in the future were down from 80.6 in April to 76.5 in May.
