Liebherr announced in May 2013 that its integrated (built-in) ECBN 5066 refrigerator was awarded the international Good Design award for the first time in the United States.

The 75-cm-wide, built-in BioFresh PremiumPlus fridge-freezer combination has two pullout freezer drawers. The unit is equipped with two compressors and has two temperature zones.

The BioFresh feature maintains temperature just above 0 degrees C and maintains an ideal humidity level. This is designed to help fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, and dairy products retain their nutrition, flavor, and appearance longer than in a conventional refrigerator.

The unit has a European A++ Energy Efficiency rating. The model is sold throughout Europe, the Middle East, and in some African markets.

The Good Design award originated in 1950 in Chicago and is today organized by the Museum of Architecture & Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design & Urban Studies.
