SodaStream International Ltd., producer of home beverage carbonation systems, reported first quarter 2013 revenue of $117.6 million, up 33.9% from $87.9 million in the first quarter of 2012. Net income in 1Q 2013 was $12.1 million, up 19.5% from $10.1 million in 1Q 2012. Adjusted net income was $14.5 million, from $11.5 million in 1Q 2012.
First quarter results were driven in large part by record consumables sales.
"Growth was led by the U.S., where household penetration and consumer usage continue to expand as evidenced by soda maker, gas refill, and syrup unit growth of 78%, 101%, and 119%, respectively, versus the same period a year ago," said CEO Daniel Birnbaum.
The company is based in Airport City, Israel, and has its U.S. headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ.
