Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission is investigating Samsung for allegedly paying students to post negative online reviews of HTC mobile phones, according to BBC reports.

The report said the investigation came in response to complaints about for-pay, negative reviews of phones from HTC - which is based in Taiwan - while praising Samsung products. Samsung Taiwan could face fines if found guilty of a charge of false advertising.
