Metalformers Expect Business Spike

Metalforming companies expect a spike in business conditions in the coming three months, according to the February 2013 Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Business Conditions Report. The report sampled 131 metalforming companies in the United States and Canada.
The report showed that:
* 37% of participants expect economic activity will improve in the next three months, from 32% in the January report
* 55% expect activity to remain unchanged, from 50% in January
* 8% expect activity will decline, from 18% in January
There was a big jump in average daily shipping levels in February 2013:
* 40% of participants report shipping levels are up from three months ago, from 21% who reported the same thing in January
* 37% reported shipping levels were unchanged from three months previous, from 38% in January
* 23% reported shipping levels were down, from 41% who said so in January
