Feb. 8, 2013 marked the 80th anniversary of the incorporation of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) as a national not-for-profit trade organization.

In the 1930's, the founders of CIPH recognized the need to lobby the government of Canada to amend the Dominion Housing Act to encourage renovation and housing starts. On Feb. 8, 1933 CIPH was incorporated. The Institute now includes nine regions across Canada, representing the interests of more than 260 companies employing over 20,000 employees, with total annual sales exceeding $5 billion.
