The European Building Automation and Controls Association - eu.bac - has developed a plan for promoting improved energy efficiency of building automation and control systems (BACS) with the help of existing EN Standards and a new eu.bac Certification Scheme.
The association said that there is currently one European standard to assist building owners in implementing BACS technology for energy savings in a new building or a building being refurbished. That standard is EN 15232: Energy performance of Buildings - Impact of Building Automation, Controls and Building Management. However, the association said there is no standard to help buildings keep performing as well or better over time.
The new eu.bac Certification Scheme (eu.bac System) specifically provides certification of energy performance of BACS in buildings when it is new and throughout its lifetime.
