Indesit Hosts Top Suppliers

Appliance maker Indesit Company gathered its best supplier partners in its hometown of Fabriano, Italy for its sixth annual convention. Indesit hosted 70 strategic suppliers, ranging from local firm Le Marche to companies from Turkey, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Japan, and the United States. Indesit and its suppliers conferenced on future strategies and the appliance maker named the winners of its 2012 Supplier Awards for excellence.

The 2012 Supplier Award for Quality went to Industrie Ilpea, based in Malgesso-Varese, Italy. The company is a global supplier of plastic, magnetic, and rubber components to the appliance and other industries.

Industrie Ilpea's Quality Award recognizes the high dependability of the components it supplies to various Indesit factories. Indesit noted that dependability grounded in meticulous design and constant monitoring of production processes is also illustrated in quality results. Industrie Ilpea quality results were globally better than predefined objectives in 2012. All the supplier's audit results were positive in 2012.

The 2012 Supplier Award for Innovation went to Copreci, maker of a variety of components for appliances, including for gas cooking, induction cooking, laundry appliances and dishwashers. The company is part of the Spanish Mondragon Group.

Copreci garnered the Innovation Award for successfully providing an elegant and economical solution for gas regulation, as well as for having adopted a win-win approach in its understanding of Indesit Company needs.

The 2012 Supplier Award for Environment went to the Austrian firm LKW Walter, which provides European shipping and logistics. The company won for its project to annually reduce CO2 emissions, its constant monitoring of the environmental impact of its business, and its commitment to sustainability.

"Innovation capability, quality, environmental responsibility, and competitiveness are our characteristics, and we look for them in our partners too," said Indesit Company Chief Supply Chain & IT Officer Marco Marini at the award event.

The event was attended by representatives from 72 of Indesit's strategic suppliers, including Arcelor Mittal (Belgium), Embraco (Brazil), Flextronics (United States), Nidec (Japan), Versalis (Italy), Voestalpine (Austria), and Xerox (Italy).
