Appliance industry supplier Lucas-Milhaupt acquired Inmet Metal Processing Plant Ltd., in Gliwice, Poland. Terms were not disclosed.
Lucas-Milhaupt is a supplier of brazing/soldering materials to the appliance, electrical/electronic, and other industries. It is based in Cudahy, WI, U.S.
Inmet is an alloy maker with products for specialized applications, including metal-joining, electrical contacts, and plating. Its product line includes silver, copper, and nickel-based materials in strip, wire, plate, anode, and rivet form. This makes it a complementary fit to Lucas-Milhaupt's business, according to Phil Malliet, president and CEO of Lucas-Milhaupt. He added that it will provide the company with growth opportunities, particularly in Europe.
The company has worked with Inmet for more than a decade. Inmet was formerly part of Poland's Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, but became an independent business owned by the Institute in September of 2010.
Inmet will now be renamed Lucas-Milhaupt Gliwice.
