Daikin Industries, Ltd. (Osaka, Japan) completed the $3.7 billion acquisition of Goodman Global Group, Inc., based in Houston.
Daikin plans to leverage its environmental technology into new Goodman air-conditioners in the U.S. residential and commercial HVAC markets.
Daikin also hopes to improve competitiveness by capitalizing on Goodman's lean management know-how to develop Daikin business in emerging economies and high-volume markets.
