Toshiba Carrier and Fujitsu General JV To Make Compressors in Thailand

Toshiba Carrier Corp. and Fujitsu General Ltd. will form a joint venture in Thailand to manufacture twin rotary compressors for air-conditioning equipment. Toshiba Carrier will hold a 51% ownership share. Fujitsu's manufacturing subsidiary FGA (Thailand) Company will hold a 49% ownership share. The new company will be established in November 2012 at Laem Chabang Industrial Estate in Thailand's Chonburi Province.

The joint venture will accelerate Toshiba Carrierís global business reorganization and will also reinforce Fujitsu Generalís compressor business for further expansion of its core air-conditioning business. The JV aims to leverage synergy between both companies to enhance distribution and cost competitiveness, and will focus on innovation.
