Stanley Black & Decker third quarter 2012 revenues increased 6% to $2.8 billion. The company said price and volume were relatively flat while currency partially offset the contribution from acquisitions.

The company's Construction & DIY (CDIY) segment sells power tools, as well as hand tools and accessories.

While overall company organic revenues in Europe were down 3% in 3Q 2012, CDIY organic revenues in Europe were flat. Continued share gains were offset by weakness in Southern Europe.

Organic revenues company-wide in North America were up 1%, largely from the strength of the CDIY segment.

Company-wide organic revenues in emerging markets were up 10%, which was slightly below expectations and was blamed primarily on slowing markets in China.
