AHRI's Yurek Presents U.S. Energy Efficiency Achievements in Beijing

Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute President and CEO Steve Yurek gave a presentation on U.S. HVACR and water heating industry energy efficiency during a Beijing symposium sponsored by the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Association (CRAA).

Yurek's address on U.S. energy efficiency programs, practices, and innovation was delivered to more than 200 attendees. The event was hosted as a venue for learning about the experiences of other nations regarding energy efficiency and energy saving technologies, intended to help China as it works to meet energy targets at a time of continued economic growth.

Yurek said U.S. industry energy efficiency efforts are focused on achieving predictability, and he outlined an industry strategy based on anticipation, innovation, and participation.

He presented U.S. industry energy efficiency achievements, noting that the minimum efficiency of residential HVAC and water heating appliances have more than doubled since 1980.
