July U.S. Steel Shipments Down 1.3% Sep 26, 2012 |

U.S. steel mills shipped 7,910,486 net tons in July 2012, down 1.3% from 8,016,834 net tons in June 2012, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). July 2012 shipments were up 6.8% from 7,409,450 net tons shipped in July 2011.
Shipments year-to-date in 2012 were 58,027,590, up 11.2% increase from the first seven months of 2011, 52,189,307.
July had the lowest shipments in 2012, down 7.1% from the peak month of March, 2012, with 8,512,825 tons.
