World Crude Steel Production Up 11% Sep 5, 2012 |

World crude steel production for the 62 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 130 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2012, up 2.0% from July 2011.
The United States produced 7.4 Mt of crude steel in July 2012, up by 0.9% from July 2011. China produced was 61.7 Mt, up 4.2% from July 2011. The July 2012 crude steel capacity utilization ratio in the 62 countries was down to 78.7%, from 80.4% in June 2012 and 0.8 percentage points lower from July 2011.
