Arcelik White Goods Revenues Increase in 1H 2012

Turkish appliance maker Arcelik reported that revenues were up more than 39% in the first half of 2012.

Arcelik's 2Q 2012 revenue was TL 2.779 billion (approx US$1.555 billion). Gross profit was 28.7%.

In the first half of the year, Revenue was TL 5.185 billion, up 39.1% from 3.728 billion in the first half of 2011. Gross profit was 28.5%, compared to 31.0% in the first half of 2011.

Arcelik's White Goods appliances business revenue in the second quarter was TL 1.744 billion, and gross profit was 31.4%.

In the first half of 2012, Arcelik's White Goods appliances business revenue was TL 3.255 billion, up 36.6% from TL 2.383 billion in the first half of 2011.

Arcelik's Electronics business revenue in the second quarter was TL 487 million. In the first half of 2012, electronics revenue was TL 973 million, up 59.4% from 610 million in the first half of 2011.

Arcelik reported TL 2.262 billion in revenues in the first half of 2012 were from Turkey, compared to TL 1.885 billion in the first half of 2011.

International revenues in the first half were TL 2.922 billion, up from TL 1.843 billion in the first half of 2011.

More specifically, Arcelik reported first-half 2012 regional revenues as follows:
* Turkey: 50.57% of revenues, from 43.63% in the first half of 2011
* Western Europe: 28.57%, from 30.05% in 1H 2011
* CIS and Eastern Europe: 12.56% from 11.43% in 1H 2011
* Africa: 1.33%, from 8.92% in 1H 2011
* Middle East: 5.42%, from 4.24% in 1H 2011
* other regions: 1.56%, from 1.73% in 1H 2011

Arcelik expects its white goods appliances volume to grow about 5% in Turkey during full-year 2012. Arcelik expects white goods appliances volume to grow more than 20% internationally.
