Resin Production Down Slightly in June

U.S. production of major plastic resins were 6.1 billion pounds in June 2012, down 0.8% From June 2011, according to the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 37.3 billion pounds, unchanged from the first six months of 2011.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins were 6.7 billion pounds in June 2012, up 11.1% from June 2011. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 37.2 billion pounds, up 1.1% from the first six months of 2011.
