Andis Company launched the 90th Anniversary Red Master Clipper and the 000 blade to commemorate the company's 90 years in operation. The bright red clipper is designed to be a modern version of Andis' first clipper.
"Barbers and stylists love the power and performance of this classic tool," said Matthew K. Andis, president of Andis Company. "Since it was first engineered by my great-grandfather in 1922, the Master Clipper has been one of our most popular models."
The 90th Anniversary Red Master Clipper has a lightweight aluminum housing to protect its inner workings and assure years of dependable use. Its high-speed magnetic motor is designed to run quiet and cool and provides 14,000 cutting strokes per minute, making it ideal for heavy duty hair cutting.
The first company clippers were manufactured in the basement of the Andis family home. American barbers embraced the brand and manufacturing expanded significantly. Today, Andis has more than 400 employees at its 160,000 square foot facility in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Products are sold in 90 countries and are used by barber and beauty shops, consumers, hotels/motels/resorts, and animal groomers.
The fourth generation of the Andis family is now running operations. President Matthew Andis shares the responsibility of guiding the company with sisters Marcia Andis, who is senior vice president, market development, and Laura Andis Bishop, who serves as senior vice president, finance. Father Matthew L. Andis still serves as chairman.
