J. C. Penney Makes Top-Level Appointments

Department store retailer J. C. Penney Company announced the promotion and addition of several retail veterans to its merchandising, operations, and investor relations functions.

Paul Rutenis was promoted to senior vice president and general merchandise manager for the jcp Home division.

Bob Peterson was appointed to senior vice president, operational strategy, and will be responsible for identifying and evaluating key business opportunities and strategic alliances.

Thorsten Weber was promoted to senior vice president, merchandising planning and allocation.

Vaneet Grover was appointed senior vice president, procurement.

Eric Cerny joined jcp as vice president, investor relations.
