Appliance maker Miele opened the doors on its newest Miele Gallery, this one in Vienna. The Gallery in Austria's capital allows consumers and dealers to experience Miele appliances in an 670-square-meter showcase space. Miele invested 10 million euros in the new Gallery, which includes two active kitchens, each 120 meters square, designed to serve as the stage for cooking classes, to host cooking events with professional chefs, and for unveiling new products for the kitchen.

"Our new Miele Gallery is a sophisticated meeting place for connoisseurs of quality and lovers of stylish pleasure," said Martin Melzer, managing director, Miele Austria.

Melzer welcomed 450 invited guests, including Miele Co-Proprietors and Managing Directors Dr. Markus Miele and Dr. Reinhard Zinkann, to the opening event. The opening featured entertainment from the Vienna State Ballet Company and a sneak preview of the musical Cats, which is returning soon to Vienna. Several well-known chefs, including Sohyi Kim, prepared culinary specialties and the event was hosted by TV personality Dr. Barbara Rett.

Miele now has Galleries in more than 50 cities worldwide, including one in Salzburg, Austria, which opened in 2007. Miele, bases in Germany, has been represented in Austria by its own wholly owned subsidiary since 1955 and is a leader in the Austrian major appliances market. Miele's turnover in Austria is about 195 million Euros.
