Ingersoll Rand brands Trane and Schlage showed the Nexia smart home system at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week—a relaunch of the Schlage LiNK system as part of the Nexia Home Intelligence system. Nexia is a smart home automation system that enable consumers to remotely manage features and functions in their homes - including door locks, heating and cooling, video surveillance, lights, shades, and energy use - via any smartphone or computer.

Among new features offered with the system is video storage capability to allow homeowners to record live home video and trigger recording based on specified parameters.

The system also offers sensor scheduling for windows and doors to be activated during nighttime hours for extra security and eliminate unnecessary daytime alerts. Sensors identify whether a door or window is opened or closed.
