Stefano Marzano was named to the new position of Chief Design Officer at Electrolux. Marzano will lead a new group staff function gathering all design related competencies within Electrolux. The change is intended to help Electrolux increase the relevance and speed of innovative solutions being brought to market.
The change is intended to consolidate the appliance maker's strategy of developing innovative solutions based on end-user insight. In 2011, Electrolux instituted the new roles of Chief Technology Officer and Chief Marketing Officer; with the addition of he Chief Design Officer the company said it has in-place the structure referred to as its Innovation Triangle. The structure allows R&D, Marketing, and Design functions to be in synergy throughout the creation process and with a clearer focus on customers and consumers.
