The U.S. government advanced retail sales report for October shows Electronics & Appliance Stores were up 3.7% from September and up 3.5% from October 2010.
Adjusted retail sales for electronics and appliances stores were $8,692 million, up from $8,381 million in September 2011 and $8,397 in October 2010. "Adjusted" U.S. Census Bureau estimates are adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes.
Non-adjusted electronics and appliance store sales in October were $7,658 million, compared to $7,652 million in September and $7,399 million in October 2010. In the first 10 months of 2011 electronics and appliance store non-adjusted sales were $77,892, up 0.2% from the same time period in 2010.
Census Bureau's advance estimates of overall U.S. retail and food services sales put October up 0.5% over September and 7.2% up from October 2010 at $397.7 billion.
