U.S. production of major plastic resins were 6.2 billion pounds during June 2011, a decrease of 0.3% compared to June 2010, according to statistics released by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 37.7 billion pounds, a 0.9% increase compared to the first half of 2010.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins were 6.1 billion pounds in June 2011, down 5.8% from June 2010. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 37.2 billion pounds, a 1.4% increase from the first half of 2010.
