Jarden Corp (Rye, NY, U.S.) said second quarter 2011 sales were up 8% to $1.7 billion compared to $1.5 billion for the second quarter of 2010. 2Q 2011 net income was $73.9 million, up from $38.4 million in 2Q 2010.
For the six months ended June 30, 2011, net sales increased 15% to $3.2 billion compared to $2.7 billion for the first half of 2010. First half 2011 net income was $92.9 million, compared to a net loss of $20.6 million in the first half of 2010.
Jarden appliances are mostly sold by its Consumer Solutions business, which reported $389.2 million in net sales in 2Q 2011, up from $381.1 million in 2Q 2010. Consumer Solutions' 2Q 2011 operating earnings were $43.5 million, compared to 2Q 2010 operating earnings of $36.7 million.
Consumer Solutions reported $736.0 million in net sales in the first half of 2011, up from $718.5 million in the first half of 2010. Consumer Solutions' operating earnings in the first half of 2011 were $82.9 million, up from $75.9 million in the first half of 2010.
Jarden's appliance brand names include Bionaire, Crock-Pot, FoodSaver, Health o meter, Holmes, Mr. Coffee, Oster, Rival, Sunbeam, and others.
