Deere Builds Engine Factory in China

Outdoor power equipment maker Deere & Company will build a factory in China to manufacture engines for John Deere equipment that is also built in China. The $60 million plant will be in the Tianjin Economic and Development Area, where Deere already has other facilities. It is expected to start production in late 2013.

It will be Deere's sixth engine plant worldwide. Others are in Argentina, France, India, Mexico, and the United States. The company also manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment.
