The European Vending Machine Manufacturers Association (EVMMA) was incorporated into the European Vending Association (EVA) as the EVA Machine Manufacturers Committee.

The vote to incorporate into EVA took place by secret ballot at last month's EVMMA meeting in Madrid.

There has been discussion about integrating EVMMA into the EVA for some time. Many EVMMA members have been members of EVA. EVAN said that, now that the decision has been reached, those who are not currently members will join EVA.

"The incorporation of the European Vending Machine Manufacturers Association (EVMMA) as a new Committee of the European Vending Association (EVA) is a significant step that ensures more fluid communication within the industry and more coherent representation," said EVMMA Chairman Paul R. Ballard. "EVMMA itself is over twenty years old and has always met regularly on an informal basis to discuss legislative, environmental, and technical issues as they relate to machine manufacture. A large majority vote to integrate the association into EVA means that, in the future, machine manufacturers will be able to take full advantage of the extensive range of services offered to EVA members."

EVA President Arnaud van Amerongen said EVA directly and indirectly represents 10,000 companies in Europe, including vending operators and suppliers of ingredients, vending machines, cups, payment systems, water treatment systems, and companies offering software/hardware, telecom, and transport. "With EVMMA covering nearly 95% of the European vending machine manufacturing industry, this integration will further enhance the EVA’s negotiating scope when discussing legislative matters in Brussels, as well as implementing new technical, energy, and environmental standards," he said.
