PlayStation3 Sales Reach 50 Million Units Apr 18, 2011 |

Sony (Tokyo) said sales of its PS3 game console topped 50 million units worldwide as of Mar. 29, 2011, with growth boosted by the introduction of the PlayStation Move motion controller. The Move controller has sold 8 million units as of April 3.
The PS3 was launched in November 2006. The Move was launched in September of 2010 in North America.
