Bosch Receives Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a 2011 Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award to BSH Home Appliances Corp. (Huntington Beach, CA, U.S.). The award recognizes Bosch for its continued contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing water- and energy-efficient appliances and educating consumers on the benefits of the Energy Star program. Bosch and other 2011 Energy Star honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 12, 2011. Bosch BSH is the U.S. business unit of Germany's BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH. Bosch is the only U.S. appliance manufacturer with 100% of its major appliances Energy Star qualified, including 48 dishwasher, clothes washer, and refrigerator models. The Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award also recognizes Bosch for: • Exceeding federal energy standards in dishwashers by an average of 38% and up to 97%. • Offering the most water-efficient dishwasher in the United States - its 800 Plus model uses as little as 1.57 gallons of water per cycle. • Improving the energy use of all its 27-inch washers – its Vision model achieved an energy use of just 120 kWh/year. • Reducing energy consumption in its manufacturing facilities by 14% since 2005.
