U.S. Resin Production Up 4% in 2010

U.S. production of major plastic resins was 75.4 billion pounds in full-year 2010, up 4.1% from 2009, according to a March 2011 report from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Resin production was 6.3 billion pounds in December 2010, up 9.9% from December 2009.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 74.6 billion pounds in full-year 2010, up 2.9% from 2009. December sales and captive use was 6.0 billion pounds in December 2010, a decrease of 0.7% from December 2009.
