Liston Durden has been inducted into the Hall of Heroes.

Durden was instrumental in the success of Viking Range Corp. over the last two decades and was a highly regarded figure in the U.S. appliance industry, including many years of service to industry association AHAM.  He served as AHAM's board chairman from 2004 until 2006.

When Durden passed away in January 2011 he was already on the list to be inducted into the Hall of Heroes this year. With his passing, the web site's Board of Advisors decided to move Durden to the top of the list - with the approval of the inductee already named to that spot.  That inductee, although working for a Viking competitor, agreed whole-heartedly to moving Durden to the spot.

Liston Durden will become only the second inductee into the newly established Hall of Heroes after Fred Carl, who founded Viking Range Corp. in the late 1980s.
