Samsung Electronics will launch 18 new split-system and window air-conditioners in India under the Invincia and Purista model names. The Invincia series includes a smart inverter technology designed to save up to 60% energy during use.

The Purista Plus Series is engineered with a capability called Virus Doctor, using SPI (S-Plasma ion) technology, designed to eliminate up to 99% of bacteria, fungi, and viruses such as H1N1 in the air.

The S –Purista line is manufactured with an S-UTR Plus Compressor that allows the air-conditioners to function in temperatures as high as 54°C (129°F). The compressor now has a more powerful motor to enable it to provide stable operation even at very low voltage.

Also new from Samsung for India is a lineup of air-conditioners with a built-in stabilizer to can handle voltage fluctuations from 135V to 290V. The Smart Inverter technology in the Invincia range saves up to 60% when the AC is on and consumes almost zero standby power when the AC is off.

"We are expecting to achieve 35-40% growth in our Split air-conditioner sales in the year 2011," said Samsung's R. Zutshi, Dy. MD, Samsung. "We expect our Split AC sales to contribute around 80% of our total air-conditioner volumes this year."
